I am using the Windows defender application. It is free and very powerful that anti-malware software and antivirus is compacted in one application. Windows is the best in terms of protection. :D

Does this cost money? Or is it a free app?

I use Linux which means I dont need an antivirus :)
In my opinion, it is the cheapest and safest way you can find.

I used Norton with Windows XP, I guess in 2007?
I never was happy with it which made me using Linux.

According to this thread, i understand that Norton is not any good anti virus but Avast and AVG. Because not even a single member is happy with Norton. So i decided not to try Norton in future

Glad we could help keep you from something truly terrible. Who knows, maybe a Norton employee will find this one day and they can get their product together.

Definitely. This site is meant for earning as well as helping each other by sharing their views about a subject. If a Norton employee ( even owner ) finds this and make his version, the best one , then it will also be counted as the No. 1 best sites . So indirectly we are also helping them to improve their product to withstand in the competitive market

I do not like Norton ... I got to use some years ago. This software holds lots of system resources and looking at the cost / benefit is not worth paying for it. Also I use avast and have not had problems!

I have tried Norton once. It made my computer lagy and really wondered why I installed it. I also tried NOD32 and at least it was a bit lite. I also dumped it and went for Microsoft's inbuilt security. No more 3rd party AV apps.
