As long as a missile or drone doesn't hit the facility where your consciousness is uploaded, no problem. :D

The thing I realized about my uploads is afterlife divorce might exist. If you died and you got uploaded, do you have to divorce your spouse so they can marry again? Because you are dead but at the same time you are alive.

Re: Mind Upload

By the way, in the Amazon TV show Upload, the uploads after they die, they were given a choice what they want to look like in the virtual afterlife. Do they want to be a virtual copy of their state before they die, or do they want to look like when they're younger or when they're on their prime? So there's two interesting characters on that show. There is this grandma, and she had been an upload for a hundred years. She used a picture of her that is in black and white. So it's funny because, you know, she is in black and white, but she is young. Then there is a billionaire guy who died at age 90, and he still decided not to be young again. He decided to look like a 90-year-old, like how he died, but you know, with the stamina of a young person.

I was going through the thread discussion and replies. It was interesting and sort of very intriguing. Just a thought that human mind can be so imaginative and human will is actually capable of bringing those imagination and creativity into play.
I would not like a mind upload of mine. If I manage to live fully in this lifetime with less time in online/virtual world, I would have had enough.

Interesting. I watched a K-drama with a similar storyline. It was about a brain transplant. But yeah. When you talk about consciousness or brain transfers, these kinds of questions pop up!

Doctor Shin (2021) is the one I was talking about.
But there is also Mouse (2021), where a serial killer's brain was transplanted.

You're welcome. "Mouse" is really weird because the guy was a serial killer, but he was also a police officer. He was injured in the line of duty and underwent brain surgery. Now he doesn't know if he has someone else's memories or his own memories. This K-drama is a movie and also a mini-series.

Why would anyone want to have a fruit fly live eternally?

obviously the fruit fly is an experiment before they go for the finale, which is uploading humans, because, you know, a lot of humans actually have the desire to be immortal, but we cannot do that to humans right away, so they started the experiment with worms, then they did with flies. Eventually, they will try to do it with smarter animals like pigs and monkeys, and eventually humans.

I wonder if it's a coincidence. Because one of the K-dramas was conducting a fruit fly experiment. :D

I think the people who write K-dramas keep their finger on the pulse of what's going on in the scientific world.

You know these directors and writers often carry out tons of research for most of their movies, and while they might add things to spice them up, some might have some elements of truth.
