What is the best eSIM for Brazil in 2026?

Postby Rylan » 30 Apr 2026, 09:31

Hi everyone, I have a trip planned to Brazil in a few months and honestly I’m getting a bit overwhelmed by all the connectivity options there.
I already used an eSIM for a Southeast Asia trip about a year and a half ago, and it worked pretty well for me, but Brazil seems to be a slightly different market apparently. So I’m trying to figure out what the best eSIM Brazil 2026 actually is, because from the reviews I’ve come across, operators don’t all have the same coverage depending on the region. I’m not just staying in São Paulo or Rio. I’m also going to the Northeast (Natal, Fortaleza) and areas that are clearly not big cities. And I get the impression that some highly rated eSIMs mainly cover major urban areas, and once you move away from those it becomes much more complicated. What matters most to me is 4G/5G speed, and also how easy it is to activate. I’ve seen some stories where people struggle to activate their eSIM while still abroad before departure, which sounds pretty annoying. My phone is compatible (iPhone 15 Pro), so that shouldn’t be an issue. The prices I’ve seen range roughly from €10 to €40 for a month of data, depending on the provider and data allowance. But price isn’t my main concern — I mainly don’t want to end up without a signal in a remote area. Has anyone had recent experience with eSIMs in Brazil? Airalo, Holafly, Nomad… what did you end up using?

In Brazil, eSIM performance depends more on the local carrier (Vivo, Claro, TIM) than the brand itself, so Airalo/Nomad/Holafly all behave similarly. For better coverage, pick one that uses multiple networks and activate it before departure, but expect weaker signal outside major cities.

Of importance is to ensure that you are using a cellphone that supports e-sims.
Not all smartphones accept e-sims.
