Life Is Strange (video game)

Postby Vens » 28 Jul 2015, 13:44

Life Is Strange is a supernatural drama and a murder mystery in an episodic format (like a TV series). The story is about Max, an 18 year old girl who returns to her home town after many years in order to study photography at an elite school. There she witnesses a murder which awakens her ability to time travel. With this new power she rewinds time, prevents the murder and decides to solve a town mystery of a missing girl. All that while reuniting with her childhood best friend with whom she has lost all contact over the years. The game is about choices and consequences and relationships rather than action. Episode 4 was just released yesterday but I only started episode 3 so please no spoilers. Have you played the game? How do you like it? Which episode is your favorite?

Adventure. It's kinda similar to Telltale games but you have full control over the character and camera, there's more things to explore and there are no annoying QTEs. The choices and consequences are also handled much better.

It runs fine on my slow laptop with Intel HD Graphics 3000 so I bet you'll be fine.

I know you're joking but way to miss the point. One of the biggest selling points of this game is that your choices effect the story and watching someone else make the decisions goes against the whole concept. Also it's a lot more interactive then Telltale. I'm playing their Game of Thrones and sometimes it seems like you are playing a cut scene and even if you don't press buttons the game will go on. Life Is Strange isn't like that at all.

Surprisingly doesn't even tho it runs on Unreal engine. You can try it out since there's a demo available on Steam. But trust me, the game gets better with each episode.

I have played this game but I didn't enjoy it. I think that the story is horrible the acting is horrible. The graphics is good but nothing more. The story is really short and I didn't download the second episode. I have only played the first one. Did it get better after the first episode? It takes so much space on my computer. I prefer the walking dead game.

It gets better with each episode but if you don't like it now you probably won't change your mind.

Finished the latest episode and holy sh*t was it intense. It is twice as longer as the previous ones. It starts very melancholic, no video game I've ever played before made me this sad. Then about halfway through it turns into True Detective and gets really f***ed up and creepy. Some puzzles were really great, I actually had to take notes and write things on the paper but solving them felt really rewarding. Best episode so far. Only one more to go. Can't wait.

Episode 1: 8.5/10
Episode 2: 9/10
Episode 3: 9/10
Episode 4: 9.3/10

The final episode is out! Already downloaded it and can't wait to get back from work to play it. Also they improved lip sync of all previous episodes in the final patch.
