Of you could not install 4 of the main anti-virus softwares available, it would point to a more serious issue. Potentially the fact your system is already compromised and therefore won't allow the installation of anti virus softwares. What was stopping you installing the other anti virus softwares? Any errors?

Personally, I haven't used Immunet so I can't really comment on how good it is.

The first sign you cannot use those antivirus is because a Malware is stopping you like what CyberFreak said. After reformatting, I suggest you use Avast! antivirus and enable the Hardened Mode ( Aggressive mode ) since it blocks not-so-well-known software from launching without your permission which you can give with a single click at the "Add Exclusion" Balloon. If you want more layer's of protection, use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit. Anti-Malware is used for hunting malware's and Anti-Exploit is to prevent website from throwing down nasty stuffs through the web in the first place.

Good luck!

Hi LShun,

Thanks for the response, I do not know how to format my system and I do not have the OS software with me. The system I brought it from my Hyderabad home, this is also more than 6 years old.

Hi ksridharprasad,

If you do not have the OS software with you, you could try to set-up a dual boot of your Linux if you want to make sure maximum security. But here's a word of warning I'm giving you because of my own experience: Do not partition or change the letter of the primary Windows drive. I tried once, and it ruined my windows by returning a Hal.DLL error everytime I boot.

That said if you want to, its on your choice. ;)

Hi LShun

How nicely you have explained. Hats off to you. Like Sridharprasad, i too dont have much knowledge about pc and its functions, but solely depend upon my sons who were with me all these days but now not with me but staying in someother station . So now a days i am struggling to fix the problem if my pc gives any trouble. But after going through this discussion, i think i should also install aggressive mode of avast. Ofcourse my son installed Avast only but dont know whether it is aggressive mode or not, I will find out. and install if he did not install. Thank you LShun. God bless you

You should only use one anti-virus because they will take up all the resources in your computer, and really one should suffice.
I use Avira for the smaller memory footprint.

You can also download tools to remove adware and spyware such as malwarebytes
