Smartphones or old phones?

Postby aecel » 23 Dec 2017, 04:24

Smartphones are very useful nowadays. We are now facing new era of technology today so basically we can do anything using smartphones. Before it's very hard to communicate with other people, especially if you're in the far place but now by using social media accounts you can easily interact with them. But psychology says that it's very stressful being always online and people becoming lazier because of using smartphone all day long.

Don't you guys miss using old phones or prefer to use smartphones?

I'm glad cellphones evolve into smartphones. They are really smart. We can download useful apps we can use in life. We can access the internet. We can use it to capture photos and videos. It can do a lot of things. I'm very happy there are smartphones now which we don't have 10 years ago

I prefer smartphones to old phones.Smartphones make work easier and we're able to get to learn things faster using a smart phone compared to the old phones.

For me the best inventions as of today are smartphones. It's really a great idea to have smartphones. Kudos to those invented it. Maybe people should learn how to balance using smartphones if they don't want to get stressed using it.

It's practical to use smartphones. Old phones can be a vintage or collection, can still be useful but not so much. With the power of smartphones, we can do a lot more tasks rather than with old phones which have limited features such no WIFI, less RAM, less storage.

Why do you prefer to use old phones? I'm also missing it to use old phones especially if I wanted to have peace of mind just for a day.

Yes, I totally agree with you it would be helpful to have two phones smartphone and old phone. It's safe to use old phones in public place to avoid snatching. Smartphones can be used in safer place.

I totally agree with you smartphones are required nowadays. They have to know that you have a social media accounts just to identify you're a legit person. It's hard without having smartphones when you're using your social media accounts. But sometimes I miss having an old phone.

For some reason, I'm not affected by this problem.
Accordingly, I use my phone ONLY when I have to either make or receive a call.
In fact, I can fail to use my phone for an entire day if these needs do not arise. :)

You're lucky for not being affected by smartphones issues. Don't you have any social media accounts to check?

I would probably choose smartphones over the old phones since you can do a lot of multitasking job in your smartphone that your old phones doesn't have.

"Smart" phones have become ubiquitous, to the degree that my kids and yours will never know a life without them. I grew up when pagers were still a thing ($45 per month for one). These phones, which are really just ultra-mini form-factor computers that can make phone calls, are so ingrained that I have frequently made the mistake of trying to swipe old phones and laptop screens (lol).

I personally appreciate the newer technology. I remember not even 10 years ago, smartphones still had physical keyboards, and texting was a real pain. Touch-screen tech has evolved to the point that crashes and removing the batteries for a reboot have become nearly extinct.

However.....privacy and security was far less a concern with "dumb" legacy cellphones. I certainly wasn't as concerned about the NSA or viruses on my old Motorolas and Nokias. And when you watch crime dramas, you'll notice that burner phones are almost always NOT smartphones....

I can transfer funds, send money to love ones, pay my bills, check the price of the coins I am invested in, do a bit of online work using a smartphone. Old phones are pricey back in the days but today you can have a smartphone for less.

I used to carry 3 different items - phone, PDA and mp3 player, plus chargers. Nowadays, things are easier...
