They are so used with tablets and smartphones that they can't use desktop computers and laptops. I know this is a transition to a new era but I just can't imagine jobs being done on touch screen. I will never log in to forumwheel with a tablet or smartphone.

I use my smart phone to access some websites and yes is annoying to type, most of the times I give up. Kids today are so attached to their phones and tables for playing that they don't really do other thing than that, so how can we expect a kid to type well on a keyboard if even in text messages they write their sentences almost as a code. I remember to watch my niece writing to her friends, it was so weird that I couldn't even understand the message.

The best games are on the PC but these kids don't know what they are missing because they refuse to learn using Keyboard and mouse.

I'm Computer Science teacher and many kids don't know how to type on keyboard @~!{} and similar marks..

My granddaughter uses a proper keyboard at school and also on my desktop so she knows how to use one. She also uses the virtual keyboards on her ipad and phone so she knows how to do both.

In our times we were unaware of Internet and cellphones but now kids know everything and they are very selective in using these devices for gaming etc

Can you guys imagine doing office work using a tablet. Typing super long documents with a tablet? That could be the future of offices because children can't use keyboards, they are so enamored by touch screen.

Yes, I agree. It all depends how they are trained to use an equipment to type. Now a days kids are hardly interested to get themselves trained to type formally. They are exposed to Smart phones at the early age and they get used to on screen keypad. Thanks!

It could be ignorance of not wanting to type because they also use a keyboard on the tablets and phones. Anyway the phones are much easier to use and as we all know nowadays kids want everything on a silver platter they are not willing to put in the hard work.

Kids also barely can do double click or drag and drop with mouse. They didn't learn how to use entire hand on mouse, only move two fingers on tablets.

I find typing on tablets very annoying as I have big fingers. I prefer my laptop. Seems kids are indeed getting hooked on their smart phones and tablets which is a shame. As I think laptops and desktops are so much better.

Yeah that is true. Kids this days don't know how to use the keyboards. They are used to touching their phones. I don't know how work will be done too.

They can see the letters on touch screen keyboard. Physical keyboards, we memorized it by hand without looking at them.

Yes, but still there are only few functions in a PC keyboard that are missing in an ipad keyboard. I think it is important that they know it, right?

I just met a kid who cant type and relies too much on Alexa to type for her.

when I was a kid, am not so good with keyboard, but I took a course call typing and skill, that was when I memorize the whole keyboard

It's just how things go, eventually keyboards will be obsolete.
