Should flying cars become legal?

Postby Netherrealmer » 09 Jul 2018, 12:10

Old science fiction movies predicted by the year 2000 the world will be surrounded by flying cars. We are now in the middle of 2018 and flying cars are still not on the streets. Actually flying cars are already invented back in the 90's. They do exist but not mass produced in factories and sold to the masses.

One of the reason I think is the fact that flying an airplane and a helicopter is a 4 year college course. No country wanted to legalize it because it is not safe in the wrong hands. Also it needs more fuel so it can pollute the air more than 10 wheeler truck.

If you work on an office building or live on an condo unit, would you be comfortable seeing those flying cars flying near your window. Oh Celebrities are rich enough to buy these cars and a lot of them are alcoholic and drug users.

Would you feel like sleeping tight at night knowing Justin Bieber, Lindsay Lohan, Mel Gibson or Amanda Bynes owns a flying car and they may crush on your window any time soon.

Problem is that they are to expensive for mass production and many can't afford it. Also you would need all new regulations for driving and new exams for people.

Yes why not? I am thinking about an airplane about the size of a regular car then folds its wings back to transform into a car. That is my idea of a flying car. Only those who know how to fly an airplane with license like a pilot will be able to use them.

I really don't know why but almost all science fiction movies represents flying cars as the transport of the future... I don't know if this kind of cars will be viable.
I don't like heights. I don't see myself flying this lololol I would crash it, for sure ;)

 When I was a child and I see these flying cars in sci-fi movies and their portrayal of the year 2000 I was excited. The actual year 2000 is a let down. Flying cars exist but we may never see them for sale. :(

If it really exist, as what you have said, it seems to be uncomfortable seeing someone from the top ride with a flying car. :D :D

Also problem for developing flying car is vertical landing. Only helicopter can vertical land and few special planes.

Is anyone considering air pollution?

The cars on the ground are already polluting our air!

Not to mention the fact that I don't trust the air traffic controllers to do their jobs!

Can you imagine the chaos? I'm imagining all kinds of things!

Air pollution will certainly be bigger because people would like to have regular and flying car. So more cars would poison air.

Aside from being expensive to have one, it's most likely consume a lot of gas or electricity. I've seen flying cars in movies as well like the Back to the Future and in the Harry Potter.

I think this one wont get legal just like the other flying cars from the past. Many laws have to be pass to make it legal and the risk of drunk driving becomes scarier.

By the time we actually get flying cars, they will be more like automated drones that fly themselves to a destination you enter via GPS and an automated Air Traffic Control system. I don't think we will have to worry about drunk Mel Gibson crashing through out bedroom windows at 3am and yelling "Yipee ki-yay".

I found out Amphibian cars are Legal, Those are the cars that can be used on water like oceans and rivers. Sadly only Military and rescue groups own it and not civilians.

Much more people would be interesed for buying flying car than amphibian, but it's much harder to built it.

The consequences of it existence is far more than it advantages cos if it exists it accident will be too deadly, it won't be affordable, it will fly at lower altitude which increases the number of polluted gases already in existence.

I don't think its a good idea in tgis day and age where kids are getting harder to control it could end up being a disaster in the making. It would be better to stick to our land cars and leave the aeroplanes to do what they were created to do and thats flying.

It could be the future but just the thought of it kind of scares me. I see the way people drive crazy using regular vehicles and don't seem to care. How do you think they will drive flying vehicles :o

The first flying car is created in the 90's!!! So imagine the technology has been around for a long time. No country just want to legalize it due to dangers.
