Receiving tons of photos and videos is up to the people you're connected with, it can happen it clogs memory but you can just set it to not receive media automatically, or you can delete the content and chats manually. I've been using it for calls recently, but the quality mainly depends on the internet connection you're with. It ain't bad over all.

If you see any Tom, Dick and Harry intruding or doing something you don't want delete them from your list. Simple as that... for me it's one of the best ways of staying connected, talk on phone anywhere in the world, send pictures instantly etc without spending a dime.

You seem fully in favour. My phone is basic and so I will have to go for a new mobile. Actually this thing about keeping in touch with the world at large honestly this eagerness to keep connected I notice is dwindling in my circle.

I have a long list of my friends and family members living in different parts of the world and WhatsApp provides me the facility to talk to them and stay in touch, send photos instantly on almost no expenses. By the way, I never add on this facility whom I do not know personally or how they behave online. I do not add even my casual friends or coworkers on WhatsApp. You know Indian Telco companies are giving enough data for a very low rate beside this facility consumes very less mobile data so it's not expensive.
