I remember the old days when I first got the net. I used to just use e mail, instant messenger, and chat rooms. It was the most exciting times! I used to trolls chat rooms, before I knew what trolling was. Same with forums. I was such a bad kid back then. I got banned from AOL and forums so many times. But I would always get back on to cause more trouble lol

But now I would love to find some chat rooms. I miss those days I guess. I wonder if AOL chat rooms still exist lol. I hardly even use e mail now. Because people can just text you or use facebook messenger now.

So do char rooms still exist? And where ?

I don't know much of anything about chatrooms, but there must be some still around.

This TV series was on the air a few years ago, and a new series just started with a new name (I can't quite remember the new name). Thing is, they catch their "customers" due to conversations on chatrooms. They must be pretty seedy places these days. The topics of conversations are too graphic to broadcast on the show. They only hint at the conversations while they bring the guy down for an arrest.

Wow this is interesting! well I heard of very bad chat rooms on the darknets. But I would never want to go there. Very bad people stay in those kind of chats. But I will check out this sounds interesting ! And yes a lot of people have been caught.. a guy who ran an illegal porn chat room was cause by an undercover cop who tricked him into calling her lol. But yeah the net can be a big and scary place. I stick to my blogs, facebook, and games, and of course forum coin.

You can create Facebook group chats. Dunno how, though. I think you can invite people in from a group you belong to.

oh yeah you can make like chats on facebook. But its not the same to me like chat rooms. Where it was a big box, and then people talked in real time. They also used to have voice chat on yahoo in the old days, and it was a lot of fun joking around on there lol

I have never used chat rooms. They have no attraction for me. I think it's for younger people.

No old people have used and still use them. Apps like Snapchat and Kik are what the young people use I heard.

Mirc is the program you had to download to get onto IRC And there were different servers, like DalNet, UnderNet, And then from there you could login to any of the servers, and then you chose to list the chatrooms, there were 1000's of rooms for each server, so for just about anything and everything you would ever want to chat about.

Chat rooms used to flow so fast, and people replied within seconds it was why it's fun. I mostly just see chat boxes in live streams now.

If you have guts, you can try chatroulette where you can chat with a stranger.

I prefer using my online time to find more money, so the only chat I have used lately is while surfing a traffic exchange that has a chat on the sidebar. Everyone in there wants to make money online and I have actually found referrals by chatting with them.
