The last TV I had was something around an 18" screen as best as I can recall. When the monthly cable price nearly tripled, I cut it off and set the TV out on the curb for trash pickup. I felt there was nothing being broadcast that was worth the price. I was in an area where nothing could be picked up by antenna. That was back in 1995.
Ever since then, my only entertainment is on the Internet, and I watch whatever on a small portion of my 15" computer screen, while I work on other sites on the rest of the screen. I usually have three different windows open at any time and the video is the smallest window.
However, I share an apartment with a roommate and he likes the big screen view. For quite awhile,he had a 40" screen in his bedroom and a second one in the living room. When the bedroom TV gave out, he upgraded the living room TV to a 55" and moved the old 40" to replace the one in his bedroom.
Over the past few years, his eyesight has been getting worse. About a month ago, he upgraded the living room TV to a 60", moved the 55" to his bedroom and sold the 40" for $50 to a neighbor.
Now, closeups on the 60" are literally bigger than life size. He watches it all the time but I only see it in passing through the apartment.
2 of my brothers have 80" screens in their homes. I'm not particularly impressed. I've got better things to do than sit in front of the great national babysitter.
