Nokia in TV business?

Postby mrki444 » 15 Nov 2019, 21:52

Nokia could not follow smartphone revolution. When Microsoft bought it and put Windows Phone on Nokia device, it was not good to. Now Nokia want to go into TV Business. It will be little different approach this time. They will be present in start only in India and for selling they will use Flipkart platform. 4K, Android 9, JBL sound tech, 55'' should be main features. They should start with everything in December.

What do yout think about this Nokia Business move?

Well Samsung was originally a grocery before it became a phone giant. Companies needs to evolve to stay alive.

True, but today is harder to remove bad name from some sectors and Nokia have it.

I think this is Nokia's attempt for survival since they are not a hit in the smartphone market.

Yes, their smartphones didn't stand up too well against those of their competitors. Sometimes they try to make a comeback by branching off into something else. Maybe that's what they're doing with with the TV now.

Still, Nokia will have to invest many effort into this Business. Samsung Qled TV is one of the strongest product so Samsung hold almost 50% of market.

It's hard to conquer this TV market nowadays as the price dropped so fast in just a quarter time with technology keep evolving.

Not so much. No matter how old TV is, prices in Croatia for cheapest models don't go below 200$. Rare which store offer little better price but not anything bigger discount.

Oh, I didn't know! These days even the biggest of brands seem to be diversifying their income streams. I can't wait to see the Nokia tv come to fruition and observe how it survives in this very competitive market.

Nokia had the sole market share in the Y2K time when there was no smartphone in India. It is good to see that they are looking forward to that loyal market again for launching products from their new venture.

Nokia had already put themselves in considerable glory, by their great breakthrough in creating robust mobile Operating Systems and hardware. Nokia is a giant brand, and it really doesn't matter what business they get into, they will at one point be the masters of that business.

Nokia mobile phones were great, but smartphones were not. Microsoft and Windows didn't help them as they think.

Before you know it, Nokia might be looking to make clothes. These brands are all about the bottom line. Anyone know how the tv is doing on the market?

 As one of my friends would say "You ain't lying" LOL. Anything to stay in the race. I believe they would do well too with the clothes. ;) I haven't followed up with the TV but it wouldn't be surprising if it is successful. They have what it takes after all.
