Social media and morality

Postby MaJamin » 22 Aug 2015, 21:59

Internet can be of hep if positively used. However children start accessing the net at early ages and parents have to be keen on what they are doing on the net. But what about you as a person? No one will come around checking what you do on the net. It becomes ones responsibility to decide if the net will be of advantage to you or not. Being of age comes with freedom and if misused the freedom can lead to the grave. The choice is yours.....

people think the Internet is a free place that has no owner and no law, so they do what they want and think that no one will ever look at his true face and subdue what she speak or do

You can block most of these sites you consider wrong for your children. This is the only way you can make the internet safe for kids.Encourage social sites that promote education.

Internet is really dangerous and yet helpful. If your problem is your children, then you need to guide them when they are using the internet. Block those sites that you think will bring dangers in their young mind.

I agree that people often think that they have free reign to behave in whichever way that they'd like online, because no one will ever be able to link the screen name to the person. But as we are discovering with Jared Fogle, that isn't true. Anything could happen, which is why we should all act with some morality online.

Internet is helpful if use in right way as well as dangerous if use in bad ways for example we communicate with our relatives far from us because of this internet technology and there are negative effects of internet using because some people are taking advantage or using it in negative ways such as doing pornography and scamming other people.

That's my point of view!
Thank you!

I think that social media should have restrictions and people who are you using it should be more respectful. I think that some people are using social media as a way to bully other people. I think the website owners should set up rules for members using their websites. What do you think are the rules when using social medias?

Except for pornography, Facebook in particular, social media is a free venue where you can exercise your freedom of expression. That's why you can find almost anything there - from curses to lovelines.

Agreed. The layers of perceived anonymity convince people that they can get away with things they shouldn't be doing. There really is no such thing as anonymity or privacy any more though.

Besides, having character means behaving appropriately even when you don't think anyone can see/know what you're doing....

I think all of us should be responsible enough in using the internet. And kids need guidance so we just have to remind them once in a while. Although we cannot control or follow what they're doing because we need to work also.

Thing is that nowadays you can shut down anyone's PC if you know what you are doing and know how to search for things. So if you start something against someone you can suffer the consequences xD

Often we forget to put stop a situation no matter how hard would be it, as long as our children can learn and can do much, this is because the Internet really is dangerous, especially because there are many people who are not what they want look and can make us sick to our children never know what can happen to us, we live in a world that has reached the limit excessive.

Yes, I agree that the internet is a wonderful place. But then everybody has different experiences, according to what they put into it. Any environment where people can hide behind something, it crates the illusion of power. And there is no truer character test than when you give a person power.

Children can be taught to be safe online. The problem is that many parents do not spend time with their children and use technology as a babysitter. If technology is used appropriately, there is substantially less risk involved.

There are a few softwares out there that parents can install on their home PC - or even their child's tablet and smartphone device. These pieces of software are essentially spyware, but if a parent doesn't have time to monitor their child, they have to get creative. Better safe than sorry?

Social media has a good purpose on morarity but it is only the people in it who make a bad choice while using it.Many love posting adulterated pics and videos that are not good for younger ages. This is a case social media becames bad to the society.

Let me talk about this. First it depends on user how he uses and 2nd what kind of friends he has... You can take an example of facebook, if I have bad friends and they share obscene pictures, it will definitely move towards immoral things.

It is completely related to self discipline. If one uses internet just to get some good knowledge and benefit with little bit of social networking it's all well and good. When it goes more of social networking and addiction is when the problem arises. Children of today's age learn everything online so it's our duty to make sure they learn the right thing online so that they grow up to be responsible kids .
