Windows 10 Free Upgrade

Postby DreekLass » 31 Aug 2015, 00:47

So it has hit the mainstream media now, that they are offering Windows 10 updates to Windows users for free. I am always skeptical about anything that is being offered for free. So I did some research on this, and a lot of people who have installed the free update are now afraid, because apparently Windows 10 has a feature on it that locates pirated software on your computer and removes it without your consent.

Sounds like 'spyware,' to me.

Will you be getting the free upgrade?

[Moved to the correct section!]

I've already upgraded.I didn't know about the "pirated content removal feature" but I'm not sure it's entirely true: https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/c ... ted_games/. Doesn't matter to me anyway because I'm not using any pirated software.

I am not joking but is that Windows 10 upgrade applicable to Windows XP system? And if so, how about the hardware requirements, would it be okay to install in a 32-bit processor?

Like the above poster, I am absolutely fine with Windows 7. I don't want to upgrade to 8 or 10, and have to relearn the entire system again.

I am definitely suspicious as to why they are offering an upgrade for free though. What is in it for them, especially when these operating system upgrades are known to cost a pretty penny to purchase usually>

Microsoft is probably offering the upgrade for free to make up for how poorly Windows 8 was received by consumers. They know that they really have to deliver this time, and they probably feel that people would be wary to upgrade after what happened with Windows 8.

So guys, this the second time I am writing this. :)

Microsoft's Windows 10 is peace of sh*t! It has built-in keylogger. Use Google please.

Microsoft has made Windows 10 to spy on you.

Their new browser Edge is also spy. It has many bugs and lags.

Windows 10 is stealing your bandwidth. You can see this article on Facebook page "Hacking News ans Tutorials".

Do not upgrade your PC.

If it ain't broke, why fix it? With the vast number of users who shifted from XP to Vista, I hope they have learned their lesson in jumping to upgrades.

This is definitely not true because I have a pirated software on my computer and I can still use it. I don't think this OS is that advance. People are speculating a lot of things but they have not used the software themselves. They are afraid of something new but in the end they will need to upgrade their computer.

I initially use Windows 8 on my tablet. But I tried to upgrade it with Windows 10 but it slowed my tablet down. I prefer Windows 8.

Are you using Windows 10?

Postby mathkruger » 27 Sep 2015, 11:54

I'm a Microsoft insider, so I'm using windows 10 makes 6 or 7 months. I was expecting a good and stable system at the beginning, but in the beta, it was so buggy and slow. But when it arrives to the public, it changes so so so much! I'm using it in 2 laptops and it's running pretty good!

So, tell us your experience with Windows 10, say to us what you think about it and the improvement you wanna see in the nexts updates.

I'm install Windows 10 about 3 weeks ago is already excellent in terms of speed, lightweight and smooth also but I was still the best Windows 7 for I have used it so much I did not like icons of Windows 10 this is my opinion.

I think you have to be habituated with the system, and it takes time. At the beginning it was very strange for me too, but now I like it :) so, good luck for you!

I am using it. I've seen improvements over the windows 8[.1], it's a very positive experience so far. my major issue is that software vendors are getting a bit behind with compatibilities. drivers for hardware have been properly updated, nothing to report against :)

I wanted to switch but it seems win10 = spyware. I watched a few videos on how to disable data collection but it is not worth it.
