That was a smart move. It is always reassuring to know that you can monitor the happenings within your home remotely at whatever time.

CCTV cameras are very good for security reasons. If I wouldn't be living in an apartment, I would also pay to buy and install CCTV cameras. It is indeed pretty expensive, but it's one of those things that you do once and after that you feel safer. I think it's a good investment.

You can x install CCTV in your house even if you are living in an apartment. After all, you will only be monitoring activities happening within the space you own.

To install CCTV at your home, you need a reliable power supply. You do not want to miss any clip due to power outages.

This is true, agape.
Luckily, most residences in cities have reliable power supply. So I think power interruptions would not be a major hindrance in cities.

My kids are grown now. I always tried to make it so one parent was home with them or they were with other family members. I know people who had nanny cams though. I think it's probably a good idea if you have no choice but to leave your children with strangers.

You know what, once I have my own house, I'm definitely setting up CCTV. We currently live on a housing estate with 24 hour security, because sadly crime is on the rise here. I would actually go one further and install nanny cams too. The things people do to kids these days...just too scary!!

You should also consider installing a CCTV system in your business premises. We were recently treated to free homemade action movie when a particular CCTV footage was aired on TV. This footage showed how some two thieves approached an MPESA teller, shot him dead, jumped inside the shop, and made away with an unknown amount of cash.

We need to attach cctv at home to protect our loved ones from unexpected danger. It is necessary for all of us to know about the condition of our house when we are outside of house.

I think it is a good idea to have CCTV at home because in case of a burglary you can then give the evidence to police and they can track down. Plus CCTV can sometimes put off potential robbers

No I have not. I can't afford it. Besides that, there are so many of us cramped into our apartment, there is always someone here. So there is no need for the eye of the camera.

However, I do know others who have and have been at work, could look at their phone and saw burglars breaking into their home. They called the cops and the burglars were caught.

I know another sad story. Unfortunately, the guy filmed his own murder. The murderers obviously didn't know they were being recorded. True story.

CCTV? If you can afford it, install it.

No. Thankfully, I have never needed to install a CCTV in my home. When my kids were younger, I stayed home to look after them until they started school. From then, I went back to work and I had a trusted family member living with us to look after them. I had someone who came in twice a week to clean only.

I bought my camera on Ebay for $11.

Wow, that's really a cheap price but how about the DVD recorder how much it's gonna cost?

@Strawberry18
It's not about just the budget to buy it, but the maintenance cost for it. Think of 24/7 CCTV and you need to have storage for it. You should try to look for the file sizes of those recorded CCTV and you will be stunned. So, if you are really rich and has something important in your house then, why not.
