If your copy of Officee is not registered, then better not use that option. As that option is only good for registered users and also it is only meant for backup online.


It is no wonder that this sign in feature is ubiquitous on virtually every place I go on Windows 2013. A clever ploy by Microsoft to catch unsuspecting users of pirated software.

Like any other commercial venture, Microsoft is well within its rights to ensure that users adhere to TOS. I thus think this sign in feature is a plus for Microsoft.

You are speaking as though Microsoft is going its users any favors. The reality is however that this is a mutual relationship in which no party is favoring the other.
