Another reason why your internet is slow during the day is because internet speeds are generally slower during the day. This is the case in my location; Nairobi.

Exactly, we have the same case. I don't know if I am going to get my own plan. The internet access I am using now is a complimentary to my room rent.

Ouch! I started out with dial up on my first computer (we lived out in the country at the time). It was painfully slow.

We live in town now, and while our original service wasn't too bad, we just got new service. It's much faster both upload and download, for about the same price as we were paying.

Nice. Your up and down are close. That seems to be rare. We have that now too, which I think is really nice, especially since it costs about the same as what we had. When the installer tested it, it was 106/104. :D

My Internet speed is very low and sometimes its just worse as it takes long to load a web page. The uplink speed is even worse. It would take forever to upload a video.

I did a test and I got this:

3.29Mb download speed
0.48Mb upload
45ms ping

I don't know if that's good but my broadband speed has mostly been satisfactory. I don't really understand much about it.

There's a new ISP provider here that seems to be very good. They promise lightning fast internet, the best there has ever been here and I'm so excited! Maybe that's one to keep an eye on when our current contract expires. If it does prove to be as fast as it claims, maybe I can start trying for online teaching jobs :D

My internet is reasonably fast some of the times but there are times especially at nights when it gets slow, sometimes very slow. I am thinking that this may be so because there may be higher user activity at that time. I would love to know if my assumption may be correct.

I hope it works out for you. That would open the door to several new online earning opportunities.

It may be a peak time or it may be that your usage is throttled at a certain point. Do you have any restrictions that you are aware of? Are others in your home using the Internet at the same time (or possibly using your allotment)?

I am happy with my ISP, I have a 100 mbps connection which never fails. The only thing I am not happy about is the price I pay for it but that is another story. I can't complain about the portuguese ISP's because I have a cousin in the UK and her internet connection sucks, she has lots of problems with it.

My ISP is Digiweb and they charge just over €40 per month. I had some trouble with downtime on their service, before Christmas, but thankfully everything has been going fine since then. Results from SpeedTest shown below:

We actually get slightly more than we pay for (50 Mb/s Download and 3Mbs upload) so it is good and typically reliable.

It looks good CyberFreak, I'd certainly like to be getting that download speed. Would you mind sharing approximately how much your plan costs per month?

My first plan was $49.95 (+ tax and fees) for 25 MB. They seemed to always be adding another fee. It went from $51, 53, 55, 57, and finally $59.00, before I was able to finally switch to the new one (which just recently became available). This one is $49.95 and that includes taxes and fees. Better speed and no surprises. I'm very happy.

What speed are you getting now, perhaps share results from SpeedTest.net.

I am currently using wiFi connection for my internet and I m happy to say it is damn very fast, when i checked the internet speed on the internet speed tester tool, this tool you can find online, it showed my internet speed is 5.2 MBPS and it was steady, there wasn't much variations in the rate of data transfer, it is probably for this reason both my download and upload completes in a flash.

My internet speed is of average, though the problem seem to be my computer. I am thinking of changing it to a better one to be able enjoy my internet.
