I once had an account on Pinterest but never followed it up. I like checking out vintage fashion. Like Tumblr, Pinterest remains a place of interest.

I have a Pinterest account and I pin just about anything. I have a lot of boards for recipes, animals, crafts, and DIYs. I have a large following (at least for me). I love looking for different ideas on there and I like to send interesting things to family members that I think they would like. My sister does a lot of crocheting and sells her products so I send her cute patterns that she might be able to do and sell. I try not to go on there too much since I get lost and will be on there for way too long.

With affiliate links allowed, I need to start using Pinterest for more than just fun/interesting stuff. It's always been a good tool for promotion (depending on your audience), but this makes it even more worthwhile. I need to figure out how to set it up to make money via affiliate links. I guess I'll have to get my boards in order.

Pinterest is a great site that provides excellent answers to most of the questions. I usually look for party decoration ideas and DIY videos. I must admit that it gives very good ideas most of the times.

I use Pinterest and love the interface. I have created a few boards there, from fitness, juicing, smoothies, vegan eating to fashion and desserts etc. I think it's also a great tool for people who are doing online businesses to find an audience that could be interested in what they have to offer. The statistics show that majority of the members who use Pinterest are women. So I guess it makes sense to pin stuff that women find interesting.

Funny you should say that. The other day, I walked in and saw my husband on Pinterest.

I was like, "What are you doing on there?" He searched something, and it brought him there, then he (like the rest of us) fell down the rabbit hole. lol

That's funny. My husband is still wondering why Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook were ever invented. But I have no problems convincing him of the value of YouTube. First I couldn't get him on YT. Now I can't get him off YT. He insists it's way better than cable TV!

I find Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr to be the easiest to use when sharing my blog posts, affiliate links, and collecting stuff that I like. I have yet to try the Rich Pins and Promoted Pins. My budget funds for advertising is limited. But just using the free Pinterest platform is better than nothing.

When Pinterest first started that's what people were using it for. It has evolved and Pinterest use it for a lot more now. It caught on like a wildfire. It went from stay-at-home moms to businesses, educational institutions, men!

I can see some results in the analytics data so I am considering to give time in updating my Boards. I am still in the learning process. I don't know yet how to group the contents.

Not only do you have to learn how ot group the content in general categories but Pinterest just added a new feature called Sections. You can further organize your content on the pinboard into Sections.

For example. Say you have a Pinterest board labeled "Entertainment". Under this main label, you can now create Sections and when you pin to the board you can pin Sections you created for "Music", "Movies", "TV Shows", "Video Games", etc. It's neat. I've used it for two board so far.

I guess I am doing it wrong. I created boards based on sites like "bitlanders post" and the like. I should have done it based on category or interest. Thank you for enlightening me. I think I really need a lot of revisions on my account.
