I would go also for the AVG since it the most commonly used in our country. It is safe and very reliable.

There was an even better deal for Kaspersky over Black Friday. It may still be available. I'm not sure. Internet Security for 5 devices (includes mobile) for $19.99 at Amazon.

thisnthat wrote:I really like Kaspersky. Even the free one isn't bad, but the paid version is really good. It has a full security package (including "safe money" which opens pages like bank, credit card, etc. in a separate, even more secure window). This is a great time of year to try it out, since there are usually some really good deals around black Friday.

I think Amazon has it for like 25 bucks for 3 devices right now (download only), which is good, but sometimes, you can find even better bargains. I think Newegg has it for like $20.00 for one device (although I'm not sure which one that is. I didn't read through the details).

If interested, be sure to look for the one that is good now but also upgrades to the 2018 version at the new year. I like that feature as well.

That's a new feature of Kaspersky, huh? "Safe money". What are the security precautions the software takes in this mode?

I think that Avast does a pretty good job for this but if you want too, McAfee or Kapersky can do the same for paid with a little more features.

(I think Avast has a paid version too?)

It does, @sdm95, cost $39.99 USD, I believe.

@Kaelnuz
I'm still using AVG free antivirus. It actually updates quite often so I'm pretty I'm safe with this free service. CCleaner I think is not effective to detect virus or malware, but for performance or maintenance service.

I'm still using windows 7 so Microsoft Security Essentials still works for me. It can easily detect virus though I need to update the software once in a while.

I don't think it's new. It's available with the Internet Security package (which may be a different, fuller, version). It opens a new window in a protected browser when you try to enter a site that involves money (your bank, Paypal etc).

Ah, I do use Kaspersky, so thanks, for clearing that up. I actually never knew that Kaspersky had that feature because I use a different computer for all financial transactions I make, @thisnthat.
