Re: Do you upgrade your laptop?

Postby peachpurple » 28 Jun 2020, 09:48

My laptop is a HP, very old one which I believed it is a celeron processor with 32GB ram and 500GB hard drive. The only thing I could add in is the RAM since there is another empty slot and change the hard drive for a bigger capacity. However, I plan to use Google drive for uploading my stuff and as for the speed, I can accept it as I do not play online game.

I use my laptop until it fails and then I buy a new one. I take good care of my electronics so they usually last a few years. The laptop I'm currently using is 5+ years old. It still works well (sometimes it freezes or it's a little slow, but that's okay) and I have no intention of buying a new one at the moment.

I think I'd only be tempted to upgrade my computer if I came across a really, really good sale that could save me 30-50%. Otherwise, I wait until my current laptop becomes unusable before upgrading.

I really want to upgrade my laptop's processor but I can't because it's soldered to the motherboard.

Yes because of my financial status. Instead of getting a new one, I prefer to upgrade it to maybe probably the latest version.

Upgrading isn't that bad but if I had a problem like that with my laptop, I would just try to sell it and save more money and join with the one I gained from selling and get a new one.

Upgrading a laptop or any PC is still an option, but I don't think I'll give it a try. Instead I save more money get myself I new one.

When guarantee is after, I'd like to upgrade my new vaio netbook with an additional memory. It came with 4 giga RAM, but can be expanded until 16. But If I open the netbook, guarantee gets lost, so I must wait next year to buy an additional RAM.
