Re: What is your opinion of Nuclear Power?

Postby MABEL » 18 Feb 2020, 14:01

We can't get away from earthquakes and having a nuclear power is expensive in maintenance. And I believe that we can't fight nature. It has its own way in getting back what's meant for her. Humans are intelligent enough to invent less hazardous equipment that is beneficial to everyone.

They have better coditions but earth quake is not only one. You must have good water supply like big river to cool plant. But plant can affect on river and life in it. If you have some endemic species you should not have plant near by those.

They can safely have Nuclear Power with less risk and accidents. Also they can have hundred floor buildings and underground cities too. That is the advantage of volcano free countries.

In general, the most important thing is how to use it.

Every thing have two aspect nothing is perfect one. Coal based thermal is also harmful for enviornment.

Those are extremely harmful. Increasing CO2 levels, warming rivers, driling mine for coal.

Nuclear Power is fine but within limits. One needs to invest a lot in safety, and also think about damage control. At times, communities can be antagonized if they are displaced due to these plants.
Disasters can still happen, yet with suitable measures, their chances can be minimized.

Problem is in transport to long distance users. Batteries are not good for transport and they don't have enough capacity.

We are talking about home electricity here and not transport though. I don't remember nuclear power being used for cars.

A nuclear plant that is very durable and is built in an earthquake free zone will be a great source of electricity that is more environmentally friendly. They have to be crazy strict with maintenance.

This power is really dangerous but it's useful when it comes to electricity and space science.

In space science is not popular to much. It is present only in some satelites but not in spaceships like Space Shuttle.
