Re: how frequently do you change your devices?

For my laptop- I wait until it breaks down completely and can not be fixed before buying a new one. Mobile phones I can change every couple of years. I like upgrading and trying new cell phone brands. But I must say after trying a whole bunch of brands, the iPhone came out tops👍

MY PC is already 12 years old but I always replace parts every 3 years. So I can catch up with the latest tech.

I badly needed a new phone now because the phone that I used recently was broken. I'm now patiently using an old phone until to buy a new one.

I`m sorry Aecel, I hope you`ll be able to buy a new mobile soon. Unfortunately, if we don`t live in a top tier country, device have the nasty habit to be shamefully expensive and we need to wait better times to buy new ones. That's why I do all I can to maintain the A9 in good conditions.

True. In fact, the Apple company usually does not update a phone that is bought 10 years ago, making it incompatible whenever the user wanted to download a new popular app or make a certain app buggy because it does not adapt to the new technical standards.

What is A9? I really want an iPhone but it's really expensive.

A9 is the Samsung Galaxy A9 mobile (Galaxies line A). Look if it's still in the market being sold, because now is running the Samsung Galaxy A71, owning exactly the same feature of the A9. I purchased mine with a very big sale because I left my old Galaxy III slim in the shop. So I paid 2300 reais (more or less) with the external battery too, instead of 3300 (more or less). I remember 1000 reais of sales. Give a look for the cost in your country. If still expensive, you can buy a Samsung of the line J (this line is the cheapest into lines S, A and J). Xiaomi mobile, If I don't mistale, are good too and more or less, they cost as the Samsung J line.

I try to avoid it as much as possible to save money, but with mobile phones, it's sometimes necessary. Manufacturers really seem to make mobile phones obsolete (by means of software, mainly) quickly.

Yes, I noticed that too since phones take years before they will be broken, the manufacturers will have to find a way to increase their sales by means of obsoleting the software so people will be forced to buy a new one because some other apps won't function if they have an obsolete OS.

I just changed my router today. My cat decided to nibble the wires and make it fell on the floor.

Sadly, this is happening to all the devices owning Android Jelly Bean as O.S. Incompatibility with most of the Play Store apps, in spite of some Jelly Bean devices really being in good conditions. A friend of mine is having hard times, suffering during online tasks cause an obsolete Jelly Bean. But she lost her job and can't afford a better and modern device. As I could understand small sized companies, if they would plan quick obsolescence, I can't understand multinational industries :x . It's a real shame unemployes and starving people can't get helped by online tasks cause an obsolete device and certainly not in condition to buy new stuff each couple of years :x .
