Cell phones can cause cancer not only when you are asleep. Unfortunately I can't sleep with mine very far because of emergencies but during the day I avoid using it much, I mainly use the cell phone to send text messages and never spend much time talking on the phone.

Since I spend a lot of time at my desk my cell phone is charged there frequently beside me, it doesn't mean I use it all day though because I don't. I do put it on the bedside table by me but that is more because I am going to sleep at that point and want it in arms reach if it rings.

I'm probably one of the only ones here that does not own a cell phone. I do have a phone near my bed, but of course it's a land line. I'll admit, between the radiation effects and the rise of automobile accidents due to use, cell phones scare me. I mean, really? All of this to stay connected?

I believe you sleep better if you are not active for an hour in any gadget like smartphones before you go to bed. I actually use my phone for alarm and light so I have my phone with me near my bed.

I put my Tablet few meter near me, SO it is OK.
Don't put you phone next to you, It's could be dangerous!

There is so much you can do with your phone. Before I sleep I have to check my phone for my to do list, catch up with friends on-line, play music to get me to sleep. I sometimes use my phone as a source of light

You are absolutely right. Sleeping with a phone is utter foolishness. Especially for babies it can adversely affect them. I always put my phone in switch off mode while sleeping. In case of any emergencies my land phone can be used by others.

I used to keep my mobile with me while sleeping just because I used to use the alarm for next day's morning wake up call.
