Until today Google has won in popularity and overall performance over Bing because Google ranks the results you see using a special algorithm . This algorithm is based on a huge number of factors which allows the users to get the best results for their research. Google also offers better set of features than Bing like the "I'm Feeling Lucky" which takes you straight to the site that best fits the search term or Google Sky which allows you to view images from NASA satellites, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, and the Hubble Telescope.
Plus this search engine doesn't produce case sensitive searching which means it doesn't matter if you type in lower or upper case, the search results are the same.
As for Bing it carries the burden of being created by Microsoft, and we all know that most people feelings towards Microsoft are not the best, and maybe because of that Bing is not so popular as Google.
I can say that Bing is fast, easy to use and has a strong social searching feature, for sure Bring has improved a lot in the last couple of years but still it is not so attractive as Google. Most features Google offers are present in Bing like image search, news, shopping, movie search and maps but its search results aren't as intuitive as Google's.
The reasons above are enough for me to choose Google as my search engine, although I use a different version of this search engine name "Blackl" because it saves energy
