parents should be responsible for it but boys are well known based they get help from friends for surfing net.
I personally hate this. i use internet for important purposes only. And I know if we use internet for good reason it helps a lot but if BAD then we have to say 'internet occurs so many'

MaJamin wrote:Internet can be of hep if positively used. However children start accessing the net at early ages and parents have to be keen on what they are doing on the net. But what about you as a person? No one will come around checking what you do on the net. It becomes ones responsibility to decide if the net will be of advantage to you or not. Being of age comes with freedom and if misused the freedom can lead to the grave. The choice is yours.....

we are now experiencing the bad side of modernization. Kids play online games related with guns and killing. They can view porn sites easily and use social media on their you age. Unfortunately, this is hard to avoid and only parents can hinder this by guiding their kids. Yes there are so many positive things it gave to millions of people but we should be mindful that every action should come with its responsibility to use it right.

It truly is sad just how some people go all out and live their whole lives out online; you know exactly what they're getting up to, what they did last night, who they fell out with etc. True, the internet is a fantastic tool, but some people don't realise that by airing their dirty laundry out for all and sundry to see, they may be putting themselves at risk, starting with cyber crime and identity fraud. There are just so many pitfalls we need to be aware of, and really stay vigilant and cautious at all times.

Social media sites are ways to express yourself, but it needs a limit of...expression though. :) For children, it can be installed the parental control on Internet, of the parent want to keep them away for different themes.

i agree with you that social media is not good for children, because they are not mature enough to differentiate the good and bad one

Parents must be very focused on there children while using the net or it is more better if children at a young age won't be exposed to social media or maybe just be guided all the time to avoid those bad things that social media brings.

Nowadays adolescents are native from the internet. This means that they grew up using the internet since they were little.
I'm from a different generation, from people who only started to use the internet after their 18 birthday. You can think that this is not important, but is very important.
Without internet we gave a great value for privacy, for instance. Today the sense of privacy is completely different.
I'm not trying to say that the time before the internet was better... is simply different. The internet grew up without many rules and we try to implement some of the "physical" world rules, which, sometimes, isn't the best.
Like in physical world we must choose what is the best way for us. There are good and bad things in this virtual world... :)
