Re: Are you using Windows 10?

Postby RobertoS007 » 30 Sep 2015, 19:16

Already use the WIN 10 for some time and always remained stable. I see some people complain about crashes among other things, but this is totally normal because of the variety of different hardware nowadays.
My personal assessment is: great S.O.

Abakane, cortana is not yet available in my country, but I am eager to try it. Personal virtual assistants are becoming a nice reality, and I'd like to give it a try asap. Hopefully the experience will be less radical than in the movie "Her" 8-)

Only personal assistant that i can use will be the one i make, or at least it is open sorced and i can look at the code. I am all for advancements in technology so when they become available i will use them.
I just googled that movie "Her" and my fear is it will be like in the movie "2001: A space odyssey" :(

So far I'm having a great experience using Windows 10 except for fact that the geForce drivers auto updated to the wrong version, but it is fixed now. ;)
I really enjoy the notification center. Even though I'm not having much trouble with it, I'd like to reccomend that those who haven't upgraded yet try to only perform the upgrade in November or later, because the "threeshold 2" is planned to be releaced in October, and it promises to fix some major bugs like the "Start menu and Cortana stopped working". Also, backing up your files is never a bad idea. ;)

Windows 10 is pretty much Windows 8 with a return to a more familiar user interface. At a glance, it looks pretty much the same as Windows 8. However, it adds back the start menu that was missing in Windows 8. It also breaks compatibility with a lot of older games and software.

I upgraded to 10 and I like it a lot more. The design is better, it runs faster, and it's easier to use. There are still a few bugs here and there, but I'm sure they'll be fixed. I wasn't sure about updating at first, but I'm so glad I made the right decision. I didn't like Windows 8 very much so I definitely prefer Windows 10.

I've upgraded yesterday.

For those of you having a Intel graphics card (besides any other): you have my sympathy. It gave me a hard time in the beginning. But everything is working smoothly now.

Wow! I hope that doesn't happen with mine! :o That little icon in the taskbar that looks like the Windows flag started initiating a pop-up at some point and the pop-ups are getting more insistent. The last one said something like "Thank-you for registering your upgrade to Windows 10", but I didn't register for an upgrade so far as I can remember. I like what I have. I don't want the upgrade.

EDIT: Oh, cool. I clicked on the flag and saw a thing in the corner that looked like it might be a menu. It was and I clicked on View Confirmation and was able to cancel the reservation. :D

Err....Ok I clicked the flag again and it says the same thing at before...my reservation is reserved. *sigh* Well, ok, now I don't know. :(

I am using an old computer ( bought in 2007) which runs on Win XP. I can update it to windows 7 ( but I don't want as I am very happy with the XP) but windows 10 is something that is not so comptabible with my current set up and even if It turns compatible, I will prefer keeping it away from my pc as I am happy with XP and I don't want any software to uninstall my Xp without my consent ( Oh, I forgot to tell you that it's a pirated version that I bought at a high price of $2 )

Right now I have it in my desktop waiting to be clicked for an update in my Windows 7. I have a suspicious mind not to use it for the reason that it is free. As far as I know any Windows update is free, but upgrading it to a high level is unreasonable. Windows should have made an announcement for that. What do you think?

Well, I upgraded to Windows 10 and like it a lot better than Windows 8.

I have no worries about pirated software or Windows 10 taking anything off of my computer. If you shouldn't have it, then it shouldn't be on your computer.

I still long for the old days of Windows 7 or XP.

Windows 10 is sh1t for me. Yeah it might have a lot of performance improvments over the older OSs but they are a lot of downsides along with them. (take for example driver issues , microsoft spying on you 24/7 , etc.)
