Re: Free downloads .. are you careful?

I do not download anything unnecessarily. Earlier i used to download my favourite songs but now i stopped that also. But still I became the victim of a Malware. i downloaded showmypc to help my friend to register in forumcoin. when i clicked on download showmypc button, ilivid site popped up asking me to download, i thought if i download it then only i can able to download showmypc , so i clicked on it for downloading without knowing that i am inviting a big trouble . Now i removed that malware and my pc picked up speed also . This is a lesson for me

Yes, if I don't know the source or the person/company sending it, I don't download it.

Malware has gotten smarter just like your smart devices. Clicking anything these days can be a risk. Simply visiting a webpage can bring unwanted things. It is always a good idea to be careful online. Your device is not cheap to replace and neither is your privacy or peace of mind.

it seems its a lot safer downloading things than just browsing to sites. my antivirus always blocks sites from installing malware or going to dangerous sites. downloaded items are checked by smart filter and my antivirus warns me if its suspicious.
