Re: Have your parents catched up with technology?

Postby Lushh » 22 Nov 2018, 20:23

My father is the one who is getting out of hand with it. Lol. He is using video chat like it's the norm. Before I wake up and before I go to sleep and also right throughout the day, it is his face I see calling. He loves Skype and he likes posting photos on Facebook. He is more caught up with it than I am.

My dad is into technology but not as much. He has a smartphone with a WhatsApp and Facebook accounts. As for mum, she has both too but she is always on and off because she doesn't like smartphones, she prefers her old Nokia phone more.

My parents are too old and technology for them don't matter at all. They don't know how to operate smart phones and must prepared an old phone only to answer a call.

Your dad is super cute but he is far way better than my dad. Mine still uses his old nokia phone, push button type, no whatsapp, no wifi, no apps. Both my parents do not use social media nor internet and they don't play games either. They only use handphone to make phone calls. Nothing else. Yup boring life

Before he died, my dad used an android phone and had no issues with its features. He was almost 70 when he died. He had also learned to use a laptop to do research on the internet. My aunt who is the same age as my father enjoys using her smartphone to communicate with people back home and to take pictures of her adventures.

My mom is the tech savvy one who is on social media. My dad is more on the illiterate side. Doesn't really do much besides YouTube and emails. They're both in their 60s.

My parents have somehow catched up with technology but they still don't understand how to use somethings. You just have to explain to them things but they get to forget about it easily.

I tried to teach my parents to use computer years ago, before tablet and smart phone exist, but they found it difficult to learn as we were not staying at home with them at that time. When they forgot how to do certain things, they just gotta wait for us to go home and teach them again.

Now both of them are quite addicted to smart phone. They enjoy scrolling through Facebook and YouTube to look for information they like, and play games sometimes. Then only I know it's so much easier to learn how to use the smart phone rather than computer.
