13 million now vaccinated in the UK. We didn't get much right with one of the highest death tolls in the world but we seem to have surged ahead with this. My sister gets hers on Saturday and she is 67 so they are now vaccinating the group under me.

Vaccination is still very much a work in progress. I just want it to be done on time so as to go away from wearing of this mask every time

Same here. I envy countries that started vaccinating their own people. Whereas here, there is no concrete plans made our corrupt government. Sigh

Yes there is a lot of confusion in India. Some people got 1 doze of vaccine but still waiting for the second doze. I come under 18+ category and still waiting to get registered.

The Gland pharma is the biggest contractor here to manufacture Sputnik V vaccine. The company is expected to deliver 25 crores of doses, and is also constructing the manufacturing facility. The reports say that the first batch is expected to be out by the third quarter of this financial year.

Youngs have too much zeal for vaccine so it is not easy to have it. Registration is easy but inclusion of name in slot it easy, it gets packed with in 2 minut

The government here will make available a total 91,960 doses of covaxin in the month of June. And that is less than 1.5 lakh doses that people received in May.

It'a crazy that people are more scared to get vaccinated because they thought they would get covid through that shot. LOL.

People here in some rural areas are also getting scared of vaccination. There's a high percentage of vaccine hesitancy in some of the villages.

We are now vaccinating the 25-29 age group from next Tuesday. Although the new variant is increasing hospitalisations and deaths remain low so hopefully the vaccine is doing its job. There is a plan to ease further restrictions from 21st June but this could be put off until a later date.

I have faith in the vaccination but not the way it is done around here There is a big queue and those lined up I am told do not follow protocol. I stay in a safe environment - a huge garden around me, a big house and no visitors I am therefore not sure if I should leave this safe place and expose myself there.

I don't blame you when I see what is happening on the news in India, it is frightening. I live in a part of England where infection is low and I am fully vaccinated but I still take precautions when I am out.

I was surprised to read about increasing cases in UK despite the high rate of vaccinations there.
Looks like one of the reasons is the "Delta" variant which started from India and caused a lot of cases in India in the 2nd wave.
Yet that puts up a question: "Did travelers from India to UK(UK citizens, Indian citizens on a temporary travel or some other folks - may be)were not put on adequate quarantine, or were not all tested?
Where did the slippage happen?

I am surprised to read that the new variant of the virus is imported from India! There are too few flights in operation with strict travel guidelines. No one is allowed to enter any country without a negative test report and mandatory quarantine.
There is no tourist visa (unless must) and the people traveling to the UK have to follow a strict protocol. We came from Canberra to Delhi in the first week of March with proper test reports done within 72 hours of arrival.

We went for another PCR test at Delhi airport before leaving the airport area. The same procedure is followed at every airport in UK that allows limited passengers especially from countries where people are infected.

Actually, as the things stand today and people are taking this pandemic so lightly the third wave is bound to happen, and more so in countries where people are taking it too lightly.

I regret leaving Australia with almost nil cases, the government is too strict and people follow the rules. Australia has not made vaccination mandatory but left it to the people's choice.
@Bestwriter, go to a private hospital with almost no queue and reimbursement by your insurance provider.
