In the early days we had lycos, yahoo, metacrawler, msn, alta vista ... ... but now it's just google. What would you use?

We can all understand that Google is the leading search engine which does have a wide variety of secondary services. I cannot think of any alternatives, because Google is the real champion. But, I have heard of rumors which tell that Apple is going to create a competitive search engine. Let's see what Apple has to offer!

By the way, CTx, this is so true.

Nothing beats Google really.
Other search engines are more likely to collapse before google does. (Unless someone does a really nasty hack on google.)
But as an alternative I'd go with Yahoo.
I still remember I used to use msn most when I was a little kid.
Ahh... miss the good old days when thing weren't as complicated as now.

I an not using Google calender or hotmail, therefore, I cannot answer the OP's question. However, I use Google's various products, from Google Keyword Tools to Google Analytics, Google search Gmail, G +, Youtube etc. I used to have hotmail, that was around 7 or 8 years ago, when Gmail came, I stopped using hotmail.

1. Google
2. Bing
3. DuckDuckGo

But nothing can ever top Google. It's ability to find the most deeply hidden information on the internet, and it's simplicity, will allow it to rule the internet for decades.

Baidu is another alternative to Google. Baidu is a search engines of China. Google is not available in China. In Russia and former Soviet Unions, Yandex is popular search engine.

I second the idea that Google is top dog. I never even have to think about it, if I want to look something up I just Google it. I used to love Yahoo, especially with its news feed. But there was a time when it went all weird and I truly believed it was going down. Of coz, it's now sorted itself out but I'm now with Google.

I also think the same since most of us cannot use it. If it ranks high it's due to the fact that all the Chinese have to use it as their first search engine.
