Smallest Drone

Postby ksridharprasad » 04 Jan 2016, 13:17

Hi Friends,

Worlds smallest quad copter was released by Axis Drones, its size is 3cm X 3 cm X 2 cm. This tiny drone will fly in the air 5 to 7 minutes with a charging of 15 minutes. No need to get the permission from the Aviation authorities to run the drone and it is 2.4 gHz controller.

Sounds like fun. I'm sure you will still get the book thrown at you if you fly it over Heathrow.

I won a small drones from a Youtube giveaway last year. Although it is bigger than the one you mentioned but it come with a 480p camera. What is the cost to buy the drone? And where can we purchase it?

The dimensions of that drone is indeed smaller than traditional drones. This could get dangerous because you could lose the ability to see it while you are flying it. It could cause injury to people or damage to property. I wonder if they will get any smaller.

I don't really get why people are so fascinated by it - sorry!I know some profession use it (photography for instance) as it is useful to make them be better in their work. But not sure of any more practical uses of this, to be honest.

A smart idea.

How about the cost?

Is it commercially available?

Is this just a high tech toy or something? What does it do or is it just to fly around in the air? I, too, just don't get it and why drone is such a big thing lately. I know government drones have purposes, especially in the military, but commercial drones, I just have no idea!

It sounds like one of those hobby airplanes that my son used to get the kit, put it together, and then fly it around with a remote control when he was a small boy.

I think these are commercially available. My sister's wedding photographer used this to capture aerial shots of her wedding but I read recently that pedophiles are now using it to find their "targets"!

Next time I see a bloke playing with one in the park, I shall say, "I hear paedos use them." and wait for a reaction.

LOL, I know it is absurd, isn't it? I don't think I'll be surprised if the police will start regulating drones' usage eventually.

I don't think it's the best idea to have a small drone like that, you can't do too much with it because it'd be too hard to control it. Still, it's a pretty interesting thing that they were able to make one so small.

What a twisted world we live in!

Which sane person would think of hijacking such a marvelous invention for such nefarious ends?
