Apple to open stores in India

Postby Happyland » 20 Jan 2016, 16:03

Apple has applied with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion to open stores in India. Currently Apple sells its products through sellers such as third party companies. If approved Apple will be able to sell its I-phones, Macs and I-pads directly to the Indian consumer in its own stores. Apple has nearly 500 stores in 20 countries. China is probably their number one market for growth. They open one in China every month. There are fears that Apple's sales are slowing so they are looking to expand.

Apple Store is now all over the world. We have more Apple Retail Stores here in our country. Well, it is a good sign that Indians may have the opportunity to avail of Apple's product at their own disposal.

The Apple Store in India as a chain of retail stores owned and operated by Apple Inc. could supply the Indians with computers and consumer electronics. And also they could visit the stores to buy Macintosh personal computers, software, iPod, iPad, iPhone, Apple Watch, Apple TV. However, there is also an online Apple Store for those Indians who are always busy and have no time to visit the store.

In general people has the opinion that Apple products are very expensive and we can get the same quality at a reasonable price with other brands like nokia, samsung, motorolla, and lenovo etc. So they are buying them and naturally sales of apple phones are coming down and they want to maintain their sales in the market and face the competition so trying to enter the indian market and sell their wares directly

I'm happy for the Indian people that they are getting Apple stores in their country. I so wish we could have bona fide Apple store here, but I doubt it's a viable proposition for Apple as the population stands at just over 2-million. Plus most people over here don't have much disposable cash to spend on such expensive devices. Many people cross over to South Africa or order Apple products online because although there are a few stores that do carry Apple devices, we're just not sure if they are really authorised dealers.

I remember when I tripped over and spilt hot coffee over my MacBook, we seriously struggled to have someone look at it as we also had to be very cautious. In the end we gave up and ordered a replacement from the UK.

Yes, Apple needs that for it's own sake. They are losing ground so rapidly that they have no option but to look at rising markets.

I am surprised that only now opening an Apple store in India. I'm happy for the residents of India finally have access to shops specializing in Apple products, technical assistance is far superior to multi-brand stores.

This really let the thought of some matter, you realize that in our country would be in need of such shop, because we pay a lot in addition to how much it would cost you a phone for example, would be hard pleased to see a store.

Well it is bad for the business who used to have exclusive rights to sell Apple products, though! But having an Apple store there greatly helps especially if there is a need to file complaints or replace/fix in any of the products.
