Screen Captures

Postby oldbuddy » 03 Feb 2016, 01:12

I know there are a lot of methods to capture and image from your screen and show it to someone else. Maybe to help them recognize how something works or supply proof that a task was suitably completed (which is how I learned about it), but I recently discovered a really slick way to complete the entire process in a few seconds.

I downloaded a program from http://prntscr.com so when I am on a page I want to capture from, all I do is press the PrtScn key on my computer. A message shows asking me if I want the entire screen or just a section of it. I chose a section by dragging my mouse while holding down the left clicker to outline the section, then click an icon on the app to save it and then it gives me a link to send someone to view it. I don't need to save it to my computer or upload anything, it's painless and transparent.

I thought others may have a need for this to.

I also have a screen capture tool, most of my video tutorial were created by using a screen capture tool. However, after reading your description, I feel like this one is better. I will check this out.

I am using SNAG for my screen capture needs. You are given a choice to capture the entire screen or just a portion. The file is saved as jpg.

I have several screen captures (including Camtasia for video), but the idea of this one, is the simplicity and speed of getting it online. If you save it as a .jpg, that means you need to upload it to web hosting and send your party a link. With this program, I do it all online and never have the file on my computer or have the need of a web host and it takes seconds from start to finish.

I don't like to install or use anything external if I don't have to, which is why I prefer to use the print screen on my keyboard, and then copy the image into paint and save it as an image file.

It is the first time I hear about this program. Do you know if it is suitable for Apple devices? It seems really interesting.

Also if you have an android, your device will come with a screen capture feature upon purchase. It is such a useful feature.

In Windows, there are apps to capture screen anything in the monitor or screen of the computer. The common one is PrntScr from the keyboard. The other one is sniping tool in the program. It works the same with PrntScr key.

Here's where you can find snipping tools (screenshot):

I only click Printscreen on the keyboard, open a pain and put the picture. If it is need some editing, I used brush and crop, especially doing this on making a payment proof from Paypal when I need to hide some details.

I also don't really like to download anything onto my computer, especially if it's something that's readily available and ready to use on my laptop. But still, that tool you've shared with us sounds neat, and i'm really tempted to give it a shot, @oldbuddy. So thanks for sharing :)

Thank you for telling this. I have always been using the PrntScr key. I used to add a browser extension to help me to crop the screen capture easier. I have been seeing the Snipping Tool laying there, but I didn't bother to try it out.

It'll be helpful to me. Thanks! I know there are many other Windows programs that I haven't explore yet.

Yes they have a version for Mac too.

I would hate to try getting all my work done, if I had never downloaded any useful utilities like this. I have downloded THOUSANDS of programs from online since I started, you just need to be careful where you get them. This one was recommended after hundreds of people on MicroWorkers used it with no negative reports. If you are really paranoid, install it on a seldom used computer and test it out for a while.

I think that applications and or software like this is best for people who are new to smarthphones or computers, and for people who have not been doing screen captures the manual way for years upon years lol.

Feel free to use that snipping tool and it very easy to use. Once you use it, the monitor darkens. Now you move the cursor to a desired part of the picture you are going to cut. When you are done, click the save icon. Then it will automatically save to a folder assigned. Then you are done.

I have been doing screen captures for 16 years online and I found this easier than anything I have used before, from Photoshop down to Paint and Jing (a close second). The problem is, most people on Forum Coin are only interested in picking up more pennies and don't bother to read the rest of the threads they comment on. These are not discussions, simply an exercise to complete as quickly as possible.
