Are you using an SSD?

Postby Allius » 16 Mar 2016, 16:06

This week I finally bought an SSD (solid-state drive) and know I can give my opinion about that new technology:

I'm really appreciating my new SSD and my computer is much more fast now. And the drive really justify the money that I spent with it. I'm still using my HDD because the SSD that I bought have only 120GB (which I use for my operative system and other programs). My 1TB HDD I use for storing my files.

And you? Are you still using HDD? Have you ever tried SSD drive? :D

I have been using an SSD for probably 9 months now and I wouldn't go back to HDDs now. The difference was like night and day when I switched. They are getting so much more affordable now aswell. I have a 250gb Samsung 850 Evo but I do wish I got the 500gb capacity though.

I'm getting close to upgrading to a newer computer and this will be one option near the top of the list.

I've had an SSD since 2013. I can never go back. It's SO fast compared to a standard hard drive. My computer starts up in seconds, and I have gotten almost no freezes in three years. I want to upgrade to a bigger SSD. I'm finding that 120 GB isn't always enough for all the games I want to install on it.

I am planning to buy an SSD but still waiting for the price to go down a bit. For now, I still have the hard drive for archiving although I want to use the SSD as internal drive.

It's going to be a long time before I make the financial jump to Apple products. There is not enough difference for the price increase in my opinion. I get all the work I need to do finished and enjoy spending the rest of the money on fun.

I'm using an external SSD, as my old Dell laptop is pretty full. I'll be getting a new computer this year, and definitely will have an SSD inside. I've used them at work, and it really does make a difference. It'll also be nice at home having a quieter machine, as I like to listen to classical music.

I am currently not using one but if I keep adding things to my old laptop, I will have to think about it.
