Online time?

Postby Decentlady » 28 Apr 2016, 17:41

How many hours are you online daily? I find myself online almost always. I find it hard to set a limit. How do you manage your online time?

I'm online every day for hours. I don't find it necessary to set a limit because most of the things I do on a daily basis require internet. For example, I do my schoolwork online now. :P

I think I spend too much time online as well. But mostly it's for work, so I can't really say NO to my computer.

I used to allow myself to turn on the computer at certain time only, as I'd like to spend time with my children as much possible. But it's just that I am rushing for a freelance software project that requires me to use my computer, so I just have to do so. Once I have done with the project, I'll back to setting a time for computer/online.

I have never really added up the time that I am on the internet now since I am doing things to make money and it requires me to check sites throughout the day for work. It does not feel like work though, so I have never taken notice of how long I am on. It is most of the day though in between taking my kids to school, picking them up, fixing dinner, and putting them to bed.

I am online about 8 hours a day, its mostly because I work in front of a computer so I have to... but when I am off work, I don't come online because that's my family or friends time.

Average hours online for me is around 5-6 hours daily, but now with BlogJob, I seem to connect to the internet by the hip because I want to meet my daily points limit. I have to give up on days that I don't feel well though with my tendonitis!

I am online an unhealthy amount of time sadly. I think I spend between 8-17 hours online sometimes. 17 hours is for the days I am power working and power playing. The problem I guess would be the fact that my PC is my only real piece of technology entertainment as I use it to watch Netflix and play video games. Gaming is one of my main hobbies next to writing. The days I am online less are days with numerous errands, days I decide to go to the beach or walk and the days I see my family. I visit my family for a long time actually so by the time I get him and come online I will be on for 5 hours then go to bed. I am trying to put more exercise in the routine but it is hard to change old ways but I am working on it.

I am on-line all day.

At 5 p.m. I get off the computer and enjoy my evening. Otherwise, I am laying in bed thinking about the computer.

@swalia that makes the two of us! Me and my phone! @All others, I notice our lives pretty much revolve around the internet as the earth revolves around the Sun.

It's got better since I got my offline job. When I first started working online, I used to work back breaking hours, it was that addicting! I just couldn't seem to tear myself away, it was so weird. I'd start around 9am and not stop until around midnight LOL Of course, I'd take breaks in between. But I realised it was just too much, especially given the fact i wasn't earning much really. So I made a concerted effort to cut right back to maybe 6-8 hours at most, even before I started working offline.

I try to avoid going online on my laptop at least during weekends but stay online during weekdays for up to 12 hours a day. My work (full-time and freelance) require me to use my laptop that's why.

Given that I perform numerous paying tasks online, I'm online for at least 8 ours on any typical day.

I don't know if I can realistically set a limit.

I spend a about 8 /9 hours a day online, mustly because my offline work requires me to use a computer almost all the time. During the weekends I spend only 2/3 hours on my online activities, but I need to have some time for myself, my husband and my kids, so I need to review the time I spend online.
