Did anyone get this email?

Postby RapidBlue » 02 May 2016, 06:14

I got an email from somebody called Joel from Gogvo, never heard of him, wanting me to be friends and ( of course) to like his Facebook page.
Anybody got the same?

An email didn't end up in my spam folder, so I guess it is a result of a smart email mining. There is also an unsubscribe link in the footer so it is legit business. He have it set from 2009.

But, did anyone get it?

Yes, but my common emails end up in the spam folder, this is not a usual spam mail that's why I am asking it. My email is practically everywhere but just from the curiosity I am interested to know where from it originates.

No, I didn't receive email such as yours, because I set my Facebook account to only allowed friends to send me message. I have enough of friends asking me to like their pages, when they don't even bother to interact with me for years! Those go into the trash and blocked.

To see where it originated from, try looking at the header details. In Gmail there is a drop down arrow under the return address when you open the email.

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

Lol, not that, I meant to say who harvested my email and where, because this kind of a campaign usually includes a lot's of people. An email header with a re-route ( guy has his own server and it is registered with his name) won't give you anything by the way, but this one has registered business,a hosting company, he is not a ghost and doesn't seed the usual trash. That's why I am interested.

An email header is useful only in some cases, usually it is a dead end. If nobody received anything alike then I picked up an 'invitation' on a webpage where the rest of you have no account.

I didn't get the email either but why not send him an email and use a different gmail account and see what turns up. Or maybe google his name.

Sometimes my curiosity gets the best of me and I will do some investigating to just see.

Heck, at 69, I get Skype requests all the time from women wanting to be friends. :)

I really like the ones I get when I am staying overnight in a Hotel and there is some girl only 2.3 miles away and is ready to meet me. :D

He is accumulating followers for this Facebook fan page it is quite easy to see a reason. The only irregular thing is that you can't actually 'friend' a Facebook page, you can like it.
Aw, yes, I know those emails, but I really don't enjoy in them because I have a particular reason for that. But, in my personal experience male senders are even better, they don't start calling you horse names when you said the first instance of - 'I don't like you' - for guys it is like an invitation to send a video...
Skype? Eiiiiii...

I did not get this email but I got another one. He said thanks for your request to join (it was a click site) but I do not remember if I ever visited that site in my life. I think they are learning new tricks of the trade now.
