Is stylus convinient?

Postby Decentlady » 10 May 2016, 06:21

Despite progress in technology and the discovery of stylus, why is itnot so popular? I personally do not find it convinient to use. How frequently do you use it?

Sorry, but I don't know what are you talking about. What is "stylus"? Can you add a picture or explain better what is that? ;)

Are you talking about those pens (stylus), that are used in touchscreen? If it is that well, I don't use stylus because I find mush more easy to use my fingers instead. As I'm always carrying my ipad with me, I wouls probably lost the stylus or just forget about it in my purse.
Even though I understand that fingers are often oily and dirty or do not have the right shape for the application and stylus are more convinent to keep our device clean and it is possible to be much more precise about what part of the touchscreen is triggered.

I don't use styluses. I just use my fingers. I don't think they're inconvenient, but I just don't see the need to carry them around when I can use my fingers. I would only use a stylus if there are things on the touch screen I can't touch with my fingers (and there isn't).

I think it is not that common to be used these days especially since tablets allow you to do the same thing as using your fingers. I mean, why would you want to use a flimsy pen that you might lose one day because it is super tiny when you can rely on your fingertips in the end?

I use a stylus on my 2 In 1 touchscreen while I am surfing Clixsense ads. My fingers are short and fat, so it makes it easier, especially if I want to click the tiny X to close a tab.

I use the stylus when I play games on my iPad, but do not use it at any other times. I just do not want to carry it around with me if I go somewhere since they are easy to lose and then I would have to buy another one. That could rack up some money if I did that a lot.

You must lose a lot, I think I paid $7 for a 10 pack last ones I bought and I have seen them even cheaper.

Now that's pretty useful. I think where precision is required a stylus may help but I find writing with one quite cumbersome because writing cursive brings a lot of errors and mismatches and it just makes the overall writing experience quite frustrating.

It's a pen like device with a rubber tip that replaces your finger for using a touchscreen. Since it is much smaller than your finger, I think it is more accurate and it keeps the screen free from the oils on your finger leaving smudges and smears.

That sounds like a good deal. Where did you buy it from?

Those two are the main reasons to use a stylus, but I know some people who use it to do a digital signature, using a stylus can make it easily to write on the tablet, but I think you must have good PDF app that allows for writing on PDFs.

I bought the 10 Pack from Fred Meyer in Cornelius, Oregon, but I have seen them on Amazon too. I just didn't want to wait or pay for shipping.

It supplies capacitance and that should work on any device that has a capacitance touch screen (which is all of them to my knowledge). I use the same stylus on my 24" Android all-in-one, my 2-in-1 laptop, my Android smartphone and they all work the same.

ohh! Ok :) I have one (like this one in the picture), but I rarely use it. I think that's cool but I don't know why I don´t use it. I think the main reason is that I don't like to use many acessories...
