Installing Windows 7 OS easy guide

Postby germainebull » 12 May 2016, 04:30

I'm tired of paying a technician to install Windows OS on my laptop.

I thus want to learn how to perform this installation.

Is there any website that has a step-by-step guide on how to Install Windows OS?

I'm particularly uneasy about the partitioning bit.

Any ideas?

Partitioning is not necessary to install Windows. Just stick the CD or DVD in and boot the computer, then follow the prompts on the screen. Here's a Microsoft page http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... =windows-7

I just realized yesterday that the Netbook my daughter gave me run Window XP, and it is no longer supported. I was looking on Microsoft to see if I can upgrade to Window 7, but it seemed as if I have to buy it, which I can't at the moment.

I might have to take it in to the one of the shops, if I can find one that I trust.

Truthfully, I think you would be better off buying a copy of Windows 7 and installing it yourself. Shops tend to overcharge for OS installations. Now that Windows 10 is out, Windows 7 is slightly less expensive, I believe.

Depending on what you want to use the computer for, an inexpensive solution would be to install Linux. For word processing type work or browsing the Internet, it works better than Windows does, and it's free.
