Of late, my laptop's caps lock key indicator light is permanently off.

This usually confuses me as I'm used to glancing at the caps lock key indicator light while typing to determine if i'm using lower- or upper-case letters.

Now I can't use this method.

My question is; is there a way of remedying this situation?

What could have happened to my laptop?

It sounds like the bulb may be burned out. Maybe you will need to get used to watching what appears on your screen to determine if it needs to be toggled.

I agree with oldbuddy, I think it's just a local circuit hitch and nothing major to worry. Just keep checking the capitalisation of fonts everytime you use the caps Lock key or use Shift button instead.

sounds like a minor problem germaine if the key still works. i use to have a desktop and it didn't have a light on that key just look at the screen to see your typing results. how often do you really write in all caps anyway

Indeed, I don't type in caps often. Just thought I could obtain a solution to this minor hitch.

The bulb is probably out but it's easily replaceable. I don't have a capslock light on my keyboard but I got used to it after a while, so don't be too worried about it.
