Free internet?

Postby germainebull » 16 May 2016, 03:20

A while ago, I came across an online petition urging users to join the campaign drive for free internet.

I'm not sure about the exact name of this lobby or where I found it.

Does anyone have any idea about this free internet campaign?

No I don't, but there are a few places in the world where the governments of the respective countries provide free internet.

In India I have seen Wifi in some restaurants, Lodges and shopping malls where we can access free internet services. During our visit to Tirupathi recently, The lodge where we have stayed had this facility and they never charged for that.

Hi - are you asking about free internet access, or keeping the internet free from government interference:

There are some cities about 30-40 minutes drive from me that giving free internet to their residents. Some restaurants such as MacDonal, Penara Bread, Tim Horton and hospitals/clinic too in my own city, also offer free internet while you are on their properties. However, it is risky of getting viruses. I only use it when I absolutely have too, not often.

I think free internet means people's freedom to get access to all the websites and blogs on the internet without the interference of our big brothers like Google and Facebook in any way. If I am wrong, knowledgeable people can please correct me. :?
