Hitchin' A Ride

Postby oldbuddy » 10 Jun 2016, 01:38

Would you be willing to accept a ride in a DRONE? (NO PILOT)
It's coming sooner than you think.

I think it might be a real rush to get delivered to the airport in one my next trip. They only carry one passenger about 20 miles, but watching the videos it looks pretty cool to me.

Personally, I think I'm taking enough risks just riding in a car but you're idea.....

makes me think about "The Jetsons".

Haha, it does look very smooth and fascinating! I have lived enough of my life now, so I will follow you and take a ride. It will be just like flying in an airplane anyhow. I don't get to see the pilot in the airplane, so with a drone, no difference! Or is it? :)

I do not think I have the guts to ride that autonomous aerial vehicle. I was just pondering about the Google self driving car as I do not know and would not bother learn how to drive. I was thinking the car could not do everything on its own there are a couple of what ifs in my head. That alone now makes me think twice about a self driving car what more if I will be few feet above the ground inside a drone?

I think it'll be a long time before people start trusing something like this. But if it was the only option in an emergency, then I'd probably go for it!

I'd love one of those, it would be really cool and save a lot of commuting time.

Wow, that's amazing! First the self driving cars came about, and now drone transportation -- it's awesome living in the future.

I'd definitely be interested in trying this, although the cost of the service would definitely be a factor.

I'm sure in the 1900's people felt the same way about the automobile, but now they don't give it a second thought.

From what I saw watching the videos, adrenaline was not part of the ride. It looked pretty smooth, so you could use that time to check your email and update your posts on Forum Coin.

I was just on the shopping page of the site you shared and really want one but def do not have the money for that right now haha and may not for a while. Of course though by the time I have the money maybe they will go down in price  One can only dream... And yes I would ride in one, I would be nervous but it would be fun.

I will pass on this. I do not fly anyway so do not have the need to ride in one. I like my feet on the ground. I am sure this will not be that far off and people will think nothing of getting in one and taking off.

Please note: Few/no insurance will cover you should you decide to go on this risky voyage.

On the flip side, it'd be worthwhile for those of us who are averse to risks.

Yours is an interesting angle.

However, I'd still be anxious to think that I'm riding on a pilotless aerial vehicle!

I don't think many insurance companies have enough knowledge about drones to have a disclaimer yet. After all, it's not much different than a helicopter and insurance covers them. Personally I think they have been around long enough the risk is minimal.
