When they were invented, mobile phones were largely huge unwieldy gadgets.

Thanks to innovations, mobile phones have increasingly become smaller.

Now that we have ultra-thin, compact mobile phones, what do you predict is the trajectory of mobile phone sizes?

I guess anything can be possible. Now they are making phones with big screen but yes very slim and can afford in pocket too. May in future they will have technology to fold the phones. I have seen something like that on some site already.

Yes I agree, I think fold-able phones are next, then maybe like those gadgets in the movies, small buttons with 3d projections coming out of them could be the next from that... in about 50 years from now, we'll see a completely new next world stuff in technology, especially in mobile phones and tablets/computers.

Anything is possible with technology that is coming up we've had slide phones and twisting ones the next one will probably fold-able ones like shamzblueworld has said

Well, the technology has evolved so fast that now there are bendable cellphones which are so slim. I guess the next step would be cellphones as slim as a dollar note that can be fitted in the wallets or may be something as small and thin as a credit card!

Well the Galaxy Note phones seem a tad to big IMHO... My boyfriend has owned 2 so far. He loves the big screen for watching stuff and for games. One of our bedtime routines is watching a couple Youtube videos together from channels we both like. For that I guess the screen is nice but I don't mind using my small phone for that. I have a Samsung Galaxy S III and that screen is good enough for me.

I think that cell phones are starting to get bigger once again. I think that they are trying to create cell phones to meet everyone's needs, though, so I believe they will offer a variety of sizes. I would prefer a larger screen for my cell phone since I have big fingers.
