I've used to while travelling quite often, especially when I'm going by myself and don't know the way/road, so I take help of google maps and find it pretty useful.

I have used google maps to give me directions to a new location especially if it is out of town. I like it but I do not think that it always gives you the best route sometimes.

I used it only once to find my way in a new city and it is quite helpful although not accurate all the time. I guess, it depends on how big or small the city of town is, for its accuracy.

I love Google maps, I always use it everytime I need directions to some place I don't know. Sometimes I also use the pictures feature to see my destination, or just to know places. Google maps is great and I recomend it to everyone.

I concur; google maps is not always accurate.
This is because virtually any user can input his/her ideas to these maps.

Nevertheless, google maps is generally a great tool for directing a user to some specific geographical location.

I am using it regularly when I am at unknown location. It is good for finding our way, and most of the time it is quite accurate for me.

I am a regular user of Google Maps for directions, but even more often just to find out how long it should take to reach my destination.

So, do the edits I make on Google Maps remain?
Can some other user edit these?

I use it all the time as I am not really good with directions and can get lost  Although there are times when Google maps does not point to the most efficient location. But I found it extremely useful when we went to Japan. It helped us identify which bus or train to ride on and how much the fair should cost. Really good reference for us! :)

I don't use it often because sometimes the ways and places will not be updated and I end up being in the wrong place. I will use it only when there is no other option otherwise I always ask for directions around :)

It may be that you are using it in an area that receives updates less often, where I live it is accurate 95% of the time and even when it's not, it's good enough for me to find my way.

I often use it to know location of unknown areas and people when I read new names of cities or countries. I wanted to go to a particular place in my own city but did not know the exact location so I used Google maps and found it out. The office was located in a building only 18 km away from my home which I had never heard of before.
