Programming language not worth the while?

Postby germainebull » 01 Jul 2016, 09:04

What programming language is not worth learning?

By this I mean; what programming language is not expected to be in use by the year 2020?

Though it helps you understand the core of programming well, I think C is soon to be over, especially with the rise of C++ and C#, C is used very little even now and in future, maybe it will not be used at all.

I honestly don't think it matter man. If you can be good at one you can easily jump to another, point being is, be good enough at any language

I think programming languages are somewhat Evergreen. When I started with personal computers the hot language was Gbasic and it's still being used in various forms today. Sure there are others more efficient and easier to use, but for some uses the old stuff still comes in handy.

Fortran, Cobol etc - I am not sure if programmers use these basic programming languages now. Same is the case of C language. Now it's the age of web page based and network applications.
