Lock screen feature

Postby theMARKER » 05 Jul 2016, 12:12

I didnt like having to unlock my phone every time -- until recently when someone left a footprint. This person opened few apps containing sensitive information.

How about you?

I hate the lock screen and think it is a pain to have to put in a passcode every single time I open my phone. I don't let my kids use my phone and I am not around others who are going to get into my phone so I don't have it enabled. If I were to be some place that had a lot of people around that could get into it, I might change my mind about it.

I have never locked my screen. I rarely use mobile phone to make a call. Instead use landline

I lock my Motorola, but it just shows a grid of dots so I can connect certain ones in a pattern to unlock it. Once you get used to it, it's faster and easier than entering a number sequence (at least for me).

Working on a New Side-Hustle

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

My nephews like to play games too and it drains my battery so fast. One reason i activated the passcode..

Oh great. I use my phone pretty much for almost everything -- calls, chat, surf, take a picture, etc.

I only have fingerprint or entering a code options. The fingerprint feels weird to me haha.. I dont know why.

I don't quite understand you.
Do you mean to say that you stopped using lock-screen after this unfortunate incident?

If I understand your post well, I don't see why the opposite would be true.

I do lock my phones, I think it is important to do so because you never know when can someone get a hand over it and may use it with bad intentions, so I use a pattern lock on one of my phones and have a numbers password on another one.

Oh lock screen is a life saver for forgetful people like me! It is my security reason and if I don't have this feature, I wouldn't buy the phone. I don't much with my mobile phone for online, but there are relatives phone numbers and addresses in there that I don't want to jeopardize!

I do not use a lock screen for my phone, don't really need to. My son did reset my screen to be locked up and told me the password, but the very next day I forgot the password and ended up keying the wrong one several times so that my phone was now locked for several hours. So now I am not going to bother with lock screen, ever.

I had installed an app that will allow me to view my notifications even when my phone is locked. I think that was a bad move on my part because it only allowed malicious eyes to see what was inside my gmal, facebook update, tweets from contacts and so on. I uninstalled it right away.

She meant the other way around.

Never know, indeed.. I never cared about it until recently.

Mine's not just phone numbers.. :silent: :?

nangk08 wrote:My son did reset my screen to be locked up and told me the password, but the very next day I forgot the password and ended up keying the wrong one several times so that my phone was now locked for several hours..

Awe sorry 'bout that.. :( i changed my password twice now and it took me a while to remember the second code. It's a good thing i have an option to disable Failed Attempts or else i'll be locked out too..

blair wrote:I had installed an app that will allow me to view my notifications even when my phone is locked.

The app defeats the purpose of activating the screen lock. Good thing you deleted it.
