Video game testing

Postby haripriyavkl » 18 Jul 2016, 06:26

Game testing is one of the interesting and fast growing field which many of us are not aware of. Besides earning money it is a good chance to share your thoughts and feed backs about the game genuinely which will help the game developers to overcome their difficulties. So share your ideas.

I think it would be fun to play games and get paid for it. I am not sure it would be right for me since I don't play games that much but it would definitely keep you engaged and it probably wouldn't feel like you were working at all.

For those who are into paid video game testing, how much money do you make in a month on average?

I have a not personally tested a game yet because there is no availability in my country. You can sign up for GSN games, Game tester(They will give training and guidance to u before u start testing). May be you can try these and if I come cross any new sites i will let you know for sure.

Its sad that most clients in the West appear to think users living in the 2nd and 3rd worlds have wanting capabilities/intelligence.

I do not believe that testing video games is a significant source of income. With the rise of Steam, developers can usually attract many people who will test their games for free or even pay to test their games! I could be wrong, though.

Agreed. I just bought a game on alpha stage right now, it's pretty new and it has a lot to improve but the game is awesome, concept is amazing and it's beautiful as well. Also, when you buy a game on alpha you get the chance to support the devs and the price is really low when compared to the final version of it. I paid $13 and I know that this game will easily cost $60 when launched.

Steam Greenlight has several games to test for free, but you won't earn anything from it.

That is bad news for me.
Not being a fan of games, I'd not like to venture into this realm if I'm not earning anything.

Video game testing is an actual career, although I'm not sure what you need in order to be qualified. I guess a degree in game development helps.

This is a site way of getting addicted to games which I wouldn't advocate for but it is a sure way of distracting one self from boredom

I get your point.
However, I've noted that most degree holders are not as technically competent as diploma/certificate holders. :o
