The one that comes to mind is security, which uses remote sensors to detect intrusions.

Working on a New Side-Hustle

Since age is no longer creeping up on me, but rushing in like an NFL ball carrier on 4th down from the 1 yard line. it's very simple.

We civil engineers use it for surveying a new area, for making maps, to know about a place to construct anything new there without actually going and doing the preliminary works and collecting the data from where we are and much more. Its a pretty interesting field actually but doesn't have much of job opportunities.

Interesting.
Do you use some software to achieve this?
What about the hardware?

I think they also used it in the military and the people involved were highly trained. You can use it on almost any situation imaginable that is if you have the skill. I wonder though if it is for real and reliable.

The applications of remote sensing are diverse. Remote sensing is mainly conducted for image processing and interpretation which has specific uses within various fields of study like in Geology where remote sensing can be applied to analyze and map large, remote areas.
Remote sensing is also helpful in studying vegetation types. Interpretation of remote sensing images allows physical and biogeographers, ecologists, those studying agriculture, and foresters to easily detect what vegetation is present in certain areas. It can also be used in:

- Oceanography and coastal zone studies, including sea level rise projections, coastlines changes and the ocean-land interface
- Track hurricanes, earthquakes, erosion, and flooding. Data can be used to assess the impacts of a natural disaster and create preparedness strategies to be used before and after a hazardous event.

And so many more.

Interesting.
Why the doubts?
Mind you, science/technology has almost infinite capabilities.
