As of 2016 statistics, the percentage of internet penetration in India is 34.8%. It seems to be a good percentage compared to the past 2 years. It is reaching at a good speed all over the country.

I'm in the United States, so pretty much everyone uses the internet. It's become part of our culture. However, I was on the internet before it was cool.

It is estimated that the number of internet users in my country (Portugal) is near 80%, almost everybody uses the internet here nowadays.

In the UK it is just under 90% which is most of the country. I must admit I know very few people who don't have it. Even though I've only used it since around 2005 I really can't remember what life was like before or imagine being without it now.

I wonder; what hampers the remaining 10% from accessing internet, given that the UK is a first-world nation?

I googled is as I didn't actually know the percentage but I guess it would probably be the elderly as my mum wouldn't have had a clue. Having said that, some of the old people who lived in the same home as her before she died used internet

In Portugal there are 5,6 million people using the internet, that's about 65.4%. Almost 90% of the users are young people between 15 and 24 years old. The amount of Internet users in my country is growing fast but Internet here still expensive and maybe that is one of the reasons together with unemployment for such percentage of users.

I'm not sure about the exact statistics. But, the penetration level is not impressive in my country. You can travel to a remote town and find it hard to access basic internet services since there are no cyber cafes.
