Get a better WIFI signal?

Postby Sam » 28 Aug 2016, 13:16

What would your tips be for getting a better WIFI signal?

Living in a pretty crowded neighbourhood this year and in a 3 storey townhouse. So although the hardline connection should be 100Mbps, I'm actually getting ~30Mbps to my desktop. I'm going to put in a repeater on the second floor but I'm thinking a dual band router with big antennas might be the way to go.

I have a Netgear Nighthawk AC3200 router, and my wireless connection has never been better! A wireless connection will always be a little slower and less reliable than a hard wire connection, but AC routers do a pretty good job of keeping it close.

Triband and nice big antenna! That should be excellent. :)

Im tired and sick of this wireless internet connection that is why I apply for a wired PLDT DSl internet connection so that I can work online properly.

I basically use WiFi from the university I attend. I am not sure about the router or anything. I have been using it since 2011. So far, I have seen it go down maybe 4 times. I don't think that is bad at all.

It's on the pricey side, but I really feel that it's worth it! Your internet speed will be faster whether you use wireless or hard wire because it also has a built in four-port gigabit switch.

How about putting a wire to your router? Yes, I saw someone at YouTube that put a wire on the router antenna and the Internet speed goes quickly especially on the uploading part. I am thinking of doing the same.
