How many threads do you post?

Postby remnant » 08 Sep 2016, 03:59

Some people offer more threads than posts which is a mark of creativity or being conversant with the subject matter. I usually follow the ratio of 1 thread to 5 replies which is a requirement in most forums. Sometimes I post more. What is your threads to replies ratio?

I don't follow any rules unless stated. I only create thread when I think its geniune and needed to be shared and not for personal gain.

I don't follow a pattern. Some days I might put two up and other days nothing at all. I don't want to post just for the sake of it so I only put a thread up if I think people will be interested; even then it doesn't always go the way I imagine. I've put threads up that attracted a lot of replies when I didn't think they would and vice versa. You can never tell what people are going to go for.

When I first join a forum, I tend to post a ratio of two to five. And then over time as my thread ideas begin to swindle, I will bring it down to one and eventually will post new threads rarely unless I have legitimate queries.

I just do what comes naturally without counting.

I am with @Decenlady on this! I don't have any pattern! If there is a thread that inspire me to comment, I will; if not, I will skip a day or only do a few posts.

When there is something to share in helping out others to earn some pocket money, I will post them.

Same here; I just go with the flow and do what comes naturally. If I have a discussion I want to put out there, I'll initiate it. If I don't have anything to offer, I just carry on contributing to existent threads. I really like that about ForumCoin, there's just no pressure to do stuff like that, no rigid rules and guidelines. This in my opinion, leads to more authentic posts that actually come from the heart, far less contrived.

At the moment very few because I have no time for it. Sometimes I come here just read a few posts in a couple of minutes and then I am on the move, wish I had more time for this.

I try to post a few threads when I have something that I think is interesting to discuss. I don't do it just to do it. I'd rather reply and give a genuine response than try to make threads if they aren't interesting. Some people make lots of threads but some have no "meat" to them either.

I don't follow a pattern, usually I just start a thread when I have a question or I feel it is interesting to other members. I try to contribute with what I know or with my doubts to existent threads daily but I don't iniciate a thread here daily.

I don't really post that many threads and prefer to comment on other people's. I find it much easier than coming up with a topic. I have made a couple on here but I usually don't really have ideas on topics so I just wait for them to appear and comment on them.

I do too most of the time. But in the context of postloop, forum owners often want a specific ratio. You have to adhere, or risk a bad rating.

I usually post a new thread when it is really needed and I don't have a ratio and limit. I like to follow and post in discussions :)

I don't post a thread now unless it is very interesting. I am more than of a poster on someone's thread. There are lots of smart people in here and their curiosity about a certain topic and I prefer reading them, and joining under them rather than posting my own.

True. I was thinking in terms of this site, but yeah. On other paid to post sites, a certain number of threads is often required. It's usually at least 20% threads. Some sites are easier than others to meet the requirement.

One more reason I stick to Forum Coin, needing to meet some regulated balance is not much inspiration for me.

Well, in terms of this site, I just do what comes natural, only creating new threads when I genuinely have cause to.

Do you keep that 20% up @thisnthat, or does it dwindle after a while?

I absolute agree with you. I create a thread when it is important or necessary. A thread which is empty, nothing to gain at all, better it would be stopped or deleted. So, I focus myself on the interaction of the existing thread.

If I feel inspired to begin a discussion I start a new thread but I'm definitely "right brained" about what I'm doing. If I was assigned a topic to write about or told that I need to be more structured....

I'd be in trouble.

I just follow my heart.

I do both. I can't (physically) do much other "work," so I do as many legit sites as I can. If I get too uninspired, or just plain burned out, I have to take a couple days off from posting and rejuvenate.

I do try to, but I start to slack sometimes. I'll forget that all I've been doing is replying and be like oops! On some sites, you can get away with it as long as your active and promoting discussion. Other sites, you must make X number of threads, even if they feel forced and end up going without responses. You can usually tell when someone is grasping at straws for ideas. Some owners are just too rigid to let the forum flow (too rigid for their own good, in my opinion).
